My grandfather was born in Cotulla, LaSalle, Texas in 1913. My great-grandfather is said to have died there also. I am looking for any information that can place them here and substantiate the information I have already. I would like to trace my great-grandfather's lineage back to Mexico if possible. |

| Mary F. Holzhauer Allen | HORNSEY - Checking for information about a great-uncle, John W. Hornsey, who was a resident of LaSalle County from 1887 to his death. He also lived in the Rio Grande valley before the development of that territory. He was a well driler for many years until ill health caused him to stop that line of work. I was told he worked on an onion ranch after that in Cotulla, Texas. He was never married to my knowledge. He was born in Missouri. His parents were William D. and Sarah J. Hornsey. He was 63 years old when he died in Laredo while visiting that city with friends, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Edwards. His body was returned to Cotulla where he was buried. I do not know the year but surmise it must have been prior to 1940. A Reverand H.W. Hamilton conducted the funeral service. Pall Bearers were the following: D.L. Neeley, J.H. Gallman, W.A. Kerr, John Cotulla, R.F. Knaggs, and Judson DeVilbiss. |
